GFWC Nevada State President's Page

The theme for the next two years is "Continuing Change~One Sip at a Time".  therefore, the Executive Board has been developing workshops with information that will help you, the clubwoman, in your clubs.  You can obtain some of that information by attending the Fall Board of Director's Meeting, September 28-29 2012, and you can add your input.   (See registration form on the Member Download page).  Also, plan to attend our first state L.E.A.D.S. (Leadership, Education and Development Seminar) meeting at the same event.  Anyone who is interested in leadership, who is in a leadership position and needs some guidelines, or anone who is interested in what GFWC is all about should register and plan on attending. We will be choosing our national LEADS candidate from those who attend.  The candidate will attend the International Convention in Hollywood, Florida in June of 2013.

Welcome to the beginning of our new club year!  I am sure our Club Presidents as well as our committee chairwomen have some fantastic projects planned for the next few months.  I am looking forward to hearing about each one.  It was inspiring to read about all of your projects last year.  As you know, those projects were reported to National Chairmen.  All those volunteer hours that you put in last year for your club paid off.  At International Convention in Charlotte, NC, we received two awards as a State; one for Membership and one for Public Issues.  Congratulations!  Nevada for working together to achieve what it took to get these awards.

Yes, there is change also in the reporting process.  A number of the 2012-2014 State Pesident's got together last November and December to see what they could do to streamline the reporting process.  The National Executive Committee accepted their recommendations.  As a result, the reporting process has changed.  The biggest change is that the Club Presidents no longer report to National, only to the State President.  We conducted one workshop in Las Vegas and came up with a form for our state that we hope will take the guessing out of what needs to go into a report.  That new form will be found on the website soon.  That way we can get the reports from January to June completed before we get involved in the new club year.  We are planning on conducting yearly workshops on reporting so that we can get the seemly mundane thngs done in a fun positive way.

I'm sure you know by now that in volunteerism there is always an unlimited amount of things to do and never enough woman power to do it.  I know many of you are serving diligently in your clubs.  Maybe there are some of you that just haven't quite found your nitch, and you would like to serve on the State level.  There are are several chairmanships still open.  Please contact me at 775-738-4252 or LWC@citilink.net if you are interested.

The GFWC website is continually changing to help you in what you do in your club.  Don't forget to check out the National "Tag Line" Contest, nor the "Sole of Federation" new membership drive on www.gfwc.org website.  If you don't subscribe to the weekly "News and Notes", you might want to plan on signing up for that publication to keep up on the current events.

So, as we are "Continuing Change~One Sip at a Time" , let's work together to make it a fantastic year!
